School admissions:

We welcome admissions to New Town for Reception in September 2021 and to other year groups all year round. 

Admissions to our school are managed on behalf of the school by Reading Borough Council.  Should you wish to apply for a school place please contact the School Admissions Team or visit

Visits to the school are very welcome at a mutually agreeable time. Please contact the school office to arrange a tour on 0118 937 5509.

If you are considering New Town Primary School for your child to start our Reception class in September 2022 we will publish any planned tours here.

Please apply to Reading School Admissions for a place in the Reception class for September 2021 school year if you have a child born between 1 September 2016 and 31 August 2017.

The School manages admissions to the Nursery.  Please download the application form below and return to school with the child's original birth certificate. (For non UK citizens - please also bring passports and visas). The form can be brought in to the school office or emailed to with your proof of ID. 

Children are eligible from the term after their third birthday where places are available. However, parents may apply once the child has turned two years old.
