New Town Primary School Nurturing Brilliance, Inspiring Ambition

Information about school closure and re-opening

Official guidance from the government stated that schools in England must close on Tuesday 5th January 2021. The school is currently open for children of critical workers and vulnerable pupils only. If you require a place please email Our nursery (Ducklings) remains open.

As confirmed by the government we will re-open on Monday 8th March. We will email parents with details in due course.

When school re-opened in full in September 2020, official guidance from the government stated that attendance was statutory (a legal requirement).  Unfortunately this means that absences between September and December without a valid reason as agreed with the Headteacher, will be unauthorised and Reading Borough Council could issue a fine for non-attendance.

When school is open to all pupils, with the government expecting them to attend,  we are not able to offer an alternative online teaching platform so children can stay at home.

If your child or household are self-isolating then please click here for work that can be completed at home, should your child be well enough.
